LTIMindtree, a global technology consulting and digital solutions company, is currently hiring for the position of ‘prompt engineer.’
According to the company, the ideal candidate should have expertise in prompt engineering, with extensive experience working on GPT-4 and other variants of the GPT model. The role involves developing, testing, and refining AI-generated text prompts to ensure optimal performance.
The candidate will collaborate closely with content, product, and data teams to align prompts with user needs, driving continuous improvements in prompt quality, performance, and the overall AI prompt generation process. Moreover, the candidate will be responsible for prompt tuning, in-context learning, and modifying prompts to improve the model’s effectiveness and accuracy.
Debashis Chatterjee, CEO of LTIMindtree, said that the company is using AI to improve productivity and achieve superior outcomes for its clients.
The company recently made a deal with Voicing AI, in which LTIMindtree committed $6 million to build human-like AI voice agents. said, In an exclusive interview with AIM Nachiket Deshpande, COO at LTIMindtree said, “There are so many startups that are coming all around the world. We would want to leverage those startups for those technologies that are coming up.”
Elaborating on the philosophy that LTIMindtree follows when it comes to AI, Deshpande said the company stands on three pillars: AI in everything, everything for AI, and AI for everyone.
He added that AI solutions must integrate seamlessly into users’ existing workflows. For example, if someone uses SAP, ServiceNow, or Outlook daily, the AI solution should meet them there; not as a separate platform. “This is what we refer to as the co-pilot approach, ensuring AI systems are agentic, API-driven, and omnipresent.”
“Over the last two years, there’s been overwhelming noise around generative AI. My challenge was to build a strategy that is simple to adopt, enabling all 86,000 employees at LTIMindtree to align with it,” Deshpande revealed. “More importantly, I wanted a pragmatic approach: something relevant to us and not just general AI industry discourse.”
As AI tools like Cursor, Claude, and Github Copilot emerge, the prominence of prompt engineering has risen. For instance, at the Microsoft AI Tour in Bengaluru, Karan MV, director of international developer relations at GitHub, demonstrated that Copilot’s Workspace can understand Indian languages, including Hindi and Kannada while writing code.
GitHub chief Thomas Dohmke explained how Copilot Workspace will change software development in local languages. “As always, Karan MV demonstrated the power of Copilot Workspace – building with agents in Kannada. This is the way. Every developer will conduct a symphony of AI agents in natural language,” he said.
LinkedIn recently released a list of jobs that have gained prominence due to AI redefining hiring practices in 2025. It highlighted the need for individuals to upskill and embrace new opportunities to remain competitive in the job market.
Among the most sought-after roles is the AI engineer, who is responsible for designing and training AI models and algorithms to address complex problems and enhance system performance. This role is particularly in demand in the technology and consulting sectors, with Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Delhi leading as hiring hotspots.
